Helping The Poor

The corrupt government tried to arrest Si Midun. However, every time he was caught, Si Midun could escape because of his mastery of martial art. Whenever forced by a siege of the soldiers and hired thugs from the rich, Si Midun was rescued by the people.

During the corrupt government decades, there lived a young man named Si Midun. Since childhood, Si Midun’s parents expect their child to become good people who are diligent in worship. Therefore, his parents sent Si Midun to the pesantren belonging Haji Naipin. Pesantren was a center to study the religion of Islam. Besides learning the Al Quran, the holy book of Islam, Si Midun also learned a traditional martial art. Si Midun was very clever in all subjects, beyond the other students. His teacher was proud of him.

One day, Si Midun’s father told him to sell goats to the traditional market near his house. The goat very big so he got a high price. Si Midun brings home a lot of money. Unfortunately, in the middle of the road, he faced a group of robbers who insisted on asking for the money.

Si Midun defended himself by martial arts abilities. It didn’t take a long time, he defeated the robbers. Rofiq, the leader of the robbery group was very impressed with the abilities of Si Midun martial arts. He invited Si Midun to join the group. Si Midun agreed about that offering but had three requirements. First: He became the leader. Second: Their operation just robbed the rich man who racked people. Third: They would distribute the goods that be obtained from robbing to poor people. Rofiq agreed. Since then, Si Midun had led the Rofiq gang to rob rich people who had been extorting poor people. They shared the robbery with the poor.

“This was your treasure, we return it,” Midun said to poor people.

Si Midun’s gang was well known for its generosity. However, the corrupt government did not like Midun’s actions. Even the corrupt government and rich people considered Midun as a criminal and a troublemaker but the poor praised him as a hero.

“Si Midun is our heroes and defenders. Long live Si Midun!” said the poor people.

Hunted By The Government

The corrupt government tried to arrest Si Midun. However, every time he was caught, Si Midun could escape because of his mastery of martial art. Whenever forced by a siege of the soldiers and hired thugs from the rich, Si Midun was rescued by the people.

One day, after robbed the very rich man in town, Si Midun was hunted by the troops. However, Si Midun always escaped because the poor secretly hid him. As a result, the government could not arrest him to punish him.

The government played a new strategy. Soldiers arrested Pak Fai (Midun’s father) and Haji Aripin, who taught him. The government threatened to kill them if Si Midun did not immediately surrender.

Fearing that lovely persons would be killed by the corrupt, Si Midun surrendered. Arriving at the military headquarters, Si Midun was finally shot dead by the soldier. The corrupt government satisfied because it succeeded in arresting the number one criminals but the poor were very sad because they lost Si Midun, their defending hero.
